The high standards evident in all respects of school life are thanks to the generosity, professionalism and commitment of staff coupled with the energy, talent and commitment of students. Táim fíor bhuíoch dóibh ar fad. This website is I hope a testament to the words of our founder Mary Ward ‘Women in time will do much’.

Deputy Principal’s Address

Deputy Principal Michael Behan

Deputy Principal Michael Behan

I would like to welcome, on behalf of the school, all visitors to this website.

The aim of our school is to provide a wide-ranging curriculum to our students within which we strive to develop all of the talents which they possess. We try to ensure that these talents are used to create a better world for themselves and for others around them.

We prepare students for state examinations and provide assistance and guidance to the students in a caring atmosphere that seeks to ensure that each student reaches her potential in these examinations.

Equally we encourage student participation in the arts and in sport. There are many opportunities for students to perform in the school and indeed the high rates of participation which occur in the many lunch-time and fundraising shows is a feature of the school’s commitment to providing these opportunities.

Equally the sports department is a busy place with a wide range of sports on offer. We are proud to be reigning All-Ireland Senior Basketball and Table-Tennis champions while there is active participation in hockey, soccer, gaelic football, badminton, athletics, volleyball and swimming.

The school ethos is based on the founding principles of Mary Ward, who founded the Loreto School network and these principles include sincerity, joy, respect, trust and loyalty. We try to operate with these principles in mind as we engage in our daily routines of teaching and learning.

Once more a sincere welcome to all users of this website and we hope that you can find the information relevant to you as you work your way through it.
