We would like to wish Happy Retirement to two of our teaching staff Ms O Dowd and Ms D Scully who arrived in Rivervalley ‘with the building’ in 1988. They had both taught in this school in North Great Georges Street first. Over 5000 young ladies have passed through Loreto College and these 2 teachers have inspired many of them both inside and outside the classroom.
These two teachers inspired teaching, Maths, Accounting, Business, English, French and CSPE. But they also were inspirational as year-heads, as tutors and Ms Scully in the Arts and Drama area of school life. Loreto Swords will miss these two ladies so much. The current staff and students took the opportunity to applaud the work and commitment of these 2 wonderful Loreto ladies during our annual Prize-giving ceremony. The students and staff wished Ms Scully and Ms O Dowd every good wish and blessing as they jet off on the next chapter of their lives. For 80 years between them have been a shining light for Mary Ward and for Loreto Education.
